This is an authentic vintage tribal Persian Abadeh rug hand-knotted in Persia with an all wool pile on a cotton foundation. This rug has a full pile without any worn areas and is in excellent condition.
Abadeh is a city located in the province of Fars, rugs from this city are similar in design to Shiraz and some Qashqai carpets. Abadeh rugs usually have a low cut pile and are woven with finer wool which allows for a more tightly knotted carpet. These rugs are known to have a diamond or clover-shaped medallions along with geometric floral designs and animal motifs. Rugs from Abadeh are woven with rich reds, orange, blue, ivory, and beige, and the knot count averages around 90 KPSI. These are highly sought-after rugs and are very durable in high-traffic areas.
