Persian Qashqai Rug

This is an authentic vintage tribal Persian Qashqai rug hand-knotted in Persia with an all wool pile with abrash on a wool foundation. There is some very minor wear on the pile, see photos, this rug is in very good condition.

Qashqai are a conglomeration of tribes of Turkic ethnic origins. They mainly live in the Iranian province of Fars around the cities of Shiraz and Firuzabad. Qashqai rugs are woven on cotton or wool foundation, the colors are vibrant reds and blues along with beige, ivory, and rich yellows and golds. The designs usually consist of animal and bird motifs, along with single, or a row of diamond-shaped medallions, and are commonly known to come in small to medium sizes.
